YAY!!! Today is Saturday Mathias’ first birthday I was really excited my head was about to explode into pieces. But there was something in my way, NETBALL. When I noticed I had netball today I freaked out, I thought I would be late for the birthday party. I panicked like I was trapped in a car under water. I yelled at my Papa like an alarm clock,“WAKE UP PAPA! I HAVE TO GO TO NETBALL,GET READY”. I raced upstairs, got changed into my netball uniform and brushed my knotty hair into a ponytail. It was like tangled rope. I walked downstairs really stressed but when I saw the clock it was only 7:30 so I waited while eating breakfast. When it was 7:40 we left. I hope I’m not late for the birthday.
When we arrived at the netball court no one was there, it looked like everyone cleared off the netball court. But then Charlie-Gurl, Nicole, Charlie-Gurl’s, Mum, Dad and brother came. I ran out of the car with terrible excitement, I looked like I was a crazy killer waiting to bruise the ball. When I came out, Charlie ran to the netball court like a cheetah. I ran as well but not as fast as her, I wanted to save my energy for the game. We were practicing shooting hoops and did exercise. A couple of minutes later Waiorere, Indi, Magic, Denym and Cerys came like lightning bolts coming down from the clouds. Some other teams came to the netball court as well. We all did some exercise and passes. My Papa was watching while we were practising. A few minutes later the game started, I was put as centre.
Some minutes went by, the game finally ended and I was relieved- it felt like hours just went. When the game ended all the balls’ bruises from bouncing disappeared like a ghost in daylight. Once my Papa and I came home I remembered about the birthday and it was only 20 minutes away. I ran upstairs looking tired and stressed at the same time but I still got ready for the birthday. Once I was ready My Nana, Papa and I ran to the car to get Mathais a birthday present at The Warehouse.
We’re at the birthday now “WOW”I shrieked. My eyes popped with amazement. I looked like I was going to fill up the room with tears like raindrops covering the sky. The birthday was circus themed! There were bouncy houses that looked like hot air balloons, activities that looked fun and easy, hoops and rugby. There was also some popcorn, candyfloss and slushies that looked like rainbows and tasted like ice. I saw Tae there and some of Whaea Sally’s students. “Amethyst, this is Mia and Ford” Tae spoke. They both said hi and so did I. Once I packed away the presents, I raced to the bouncy house to go play with Mia, Tae and Ford. I was also excited to see the birthday boy but he was in a deep sleep like the Disney princess Aurora .
