Narrative
We have been learning how to write narratives. Here is a narrative I have written about a girl with her plane.
Once not so long ago as the sun was about to set, Sky went outside. Sky was a blonde tall beautiful person, she cared about everything. She went outside to fly her plane with her red trolley. The plane was small and purple. She got her remote out, picked up the plane and it flew up into the sky. It glided smoothly and did loops and twists.
Suddenly the plane lost control and got stuck high up in the old oak tree. She tried to get it out by flying it with the remote control but it didn’t work. So Sky started climbing the old oak tree.
As she got to the top, she reached out to grab the plane but the branch broke. She slipped and fell all the way to the ground. Her arm was broken. “Help, help I broke my arm!” she shouted in deep, deep pain. Her mum heard her shouting in pain and raced out of the house. She quickly ran to get her daughter. “What is wrong my darling?” her mum squealed. “I broke my arm and it hurts,” Sky cried.
Her mum raced back home and she rang for help. The ambulance came as quickly as they could. Finally they were there. The ambulance officer put her in the back of the ambulance with her mum so she felt safe. They zoomed to the hospital. They put her arm in a cast to help her hand get better.
When she returned home her mum said, “you are not going outside unless you ask me first,” her mum explained.

Autumn Cameo
ritten Language - Cameo
Learning Intention: I am learning how to use appropriate and effective similes in my cameo writing.
Success Criteria:
I am able to find and highlight similes in a cameo and explain why they work.
I am able to write appropriate similes for objects in my cameo.
Here is an example:
WINTER
Winter blows its cold breath everywhere.
The early morning frost greets you like being welcomed onto the marae.
The wind howls in the freezing air like a stray dog hungry for a bone.
Snowflakes flutter like leaves falling from autumn trees, covering the ground with a white sparkling blanket.
The trees become bare, brown bones standing like statues admiring the view.
Heavy rain falls from the sky like a thousand hooves pounding against the ground.
Chilly bitterness in the air, winter is here.
Here is my draft piece of writing!
Autumn
The trees dance as the wind gently swings them like a ballet.
leaves fall softly on the ground like a butterfly gently going so slow on the ground to land.
leaves are different color like a big rainbow shining above us in different colors.
Leaves are changing color like the children dieing there art work.
Leaves are everywhere like baby's toys everywhere.
Leaves are in the water like boats swimming across the sea.
Rain drops drip on my hand like a glass of water on your tongue.
The leaves crunch like a person crunching the yummy chocolate.
In the morning the flowers have a morning drink like a pouring rain feed
Here is my published piece of writing.
Autumn
The trees dance as the wind gently swings them like a dancing person.
Leaves fall softly on the soggy ground like a butterfly.

Leaves are everywhere making a leave blanket.
Leaves are in the water like boats swimming across the sea.
Rain drops drip on my hand like a glass of water on my tongue.
The leaves crunch like a person eating potato chips.
The flowers have a morning drink from the pouring rain.
